I Can See Clearly Now...Bathroom Inspiration Board

You know that song by Johnny Cash "I can see clearly now, the rain is gone..."

That should really be my theme song for the day, because I can finally see what's been floating around in my head the past few weeks. I always wondered why some bloggers did "mood boards"- now.I.get.it.

You know that point in a renovation when you're about to drop some serious dough, and you begin to question whether or not you've made the right decisions. I'm there. After too many disappointing and aggravating outcomes while trying to find a bathroom vanity on Craigslist, we just decided it's best to go ahead and buy a new one.

Well we found it, the one. That monumental bathroom vanity sink that is going to make or break the bathroom. I click. I order. It's bought. I freak! Millions of questions begin to encircle my head like I'm in the middle of a tornado. Is it too dark? Do I really want open shelving? Is there enough storage? Will it be tall enough? Is it going to match the paint?

Shhh...just breath Chris...

So to get over my buyers remorse I decided to make my own inspiration board this afternoon. You know...To prove to myself that I'm not crazy, and I kind of know what I'm doing. It's absolutely amazing to be able to put your vision onto one edited picture. I totally get why these boards are so important! Any doubt in my head about how this bathroom is going to look when it's finished has completely vanished, and I'm really happy with the purchases I've made and am about to make.

So here's my bathroom renovation list, and all that's left to do...

1. Paint
2. Board and batten
3. Replace vanity sink  (it's ordered!)
4. Replace mirror
5. New faucet (it's ordered!)
6. Apply beadboard to tub surround
7. Accessorize
8. Rug
9. Light fixture(it's ordered!)

If you're interested in where any of the items on my inspiration board are from...I'll make an itemized list and add it to my reveal post.

  1. As a decorator, I always made a mood board for the client and it let both of us know if the look would pull together. I like your choices and can't wait to see the final reveal! ~ Maureen
