I'm going to give you a small glimpse of our bathroom makeover today. This bathroom is seriously going to be the death of me. After one two three different paint colors up on the wall, and two bathroom vanity let downs through Craigslist I was almost ready to throw in the towel, but we are finally making progress and aiming for it to be completed by the beginning of Oct....
Our budget for this bathroom- $1000
We are not planning to redo the shower at this time, because quite frankly it's clean and functional so why fix what's not broke, ya know?
Here's a refresher of what we are dealing with...
Here's a look at the progress...
The paint choice we finally settled on was Sherwin William Sea Salt that I had color matched at the Home Depot. It really has created a calm feeling in this bathroom in the midst of renovation chaos. Once I had it up on the walls for a week and saw it in every light imaginable I was sold!
With the paint up on the walls I now knew we could get started working on the trim work...(happy squeal!) As you can see from the first picture I LOVE trim work. It's become a bit of an obsession trying to figure out what kind I want, what size to use, and then piecing it together like a puzzle. If you have yet to try DIY molding, I beg you...TRY IT! You'll be hooked, and it majorly improves the value of your home for not a lot of money.
So as of right now this is where we stand. Painted walls, a few boards of molding, and one big ol' mess, and with my mother-in-law now coming into town this weekend, we are on a bit of a time crunch to clean it up and at least make it functional again...seriously, I can't wait until this project is over!
Talk to you soon,
Why is it that the smallest rooms take the most time? Hang in there! ~ Maureen
ReplyDeleteNice! Love that wall color.
ReplyDeleteThat Sea Salt wall color looks really good. Yeah, it does give off a very calming aura. I think it’s the perfect color in the bathroom. Because it’s light, it also opens up the small space of the room, making it feel airy and roomy. You look like a man and woman with a plan with those moldings! I hope you post pictures of the finished product!
