Today I browsed the internet for cookie recipes. I'm NOT a baker. I don't enjoy baking. I find it tedious, and boring. If you love to bake and are good at it, I'm secretly jealous of you. The only reason I felt the need to bake today (other than the fact that Santa enjoys a good cookie) is because we lucked out in the neighbor department. I am convinced that we have the best neighbors anyone could ask for in the sunshine state. They have been amazing since we've moved here, and have helped us with yard work, getting my daughter into a school program, giving us advice and information when we needed it, and just being incredibly well..neighborly. :-) So I baked for them, because nothing says thank you and happy holidays like a fresh tray of cookies!
Bentley stayed by my side the entire time for moral support, and secretly hoping I'd drop something so he could hoover it up before I noticed.
Later that evening we went out with some friends to dinner and to Celebration to see "snow" and Santa. Celebration is a town in Central FL that was created by Disney. It's beautiful, quaint, old fashioned, magical and Disney-like. This is the first year my daughter wanted nothing to do with Santa, and personally, I don't blame her...he wasn't very jolly! Mrs. Claus was sweet though, so she got the action ;-) Not to mention, she had candy in her bag so that always helps when begging your child for a photo-op.
Afterwards we went to Main St. where we played and danced in the snow, and by snow, I mean bubbles.
It was a great night, and really got us in the Christmas spirit!
