Trimming Expenses for Trimwork

Where have I been for the last month you ask? Well...I've been here...reading YOUR blogs, just not posting on mine because I have not spent a nickel on anything but necessities lately, and have had nothing interesting to talk about really. Trust me, it's been really hard to not go grab that pumpkin spice latte in the morning, or not buy that really cute pair of shoes that you know will sell out in a few days, but I'm trying to learn to say "NO" to myself more, and save for what I REALLY REALLY WANT vs. what I want right in that moment.
Before we found our home, we were looking at model homes, and planning to build a house. Well for anyone who has walked into a model home, you know the builder has added "EXTRAS" galore, and if you just get the basic "no bells and whistles" model..well...haha...you might as well have bought a completely different house. What made the model home so special? TRIM AND MOLDING. That's all. Seriously, you could of told me it was a completely different floor plan, and I would of believed you. From that day on, I told my husband I WANT THAT IN OUR HOME!
So here we are in the present, in our home, with no construction background or know how. We bought our first saw, watched many many many youtube videos and how to blogs, and spent hours wandering around the molding section of Home Depot, and today we bit the bullet and got it done. We need to caulk still, but here is a sneak peak at the progress, and I am SOOOOO PROUD of my husband!

Once it's done it's going to completely transform this place, and add some serious bang for our buck into this house. Can't wait to show you the finished result. See you soon!
