So I thought I'd share a really easy way to decorate your table without having to run to a fabric store and getting expensive patriotic fabric, or going out and buying a bunch of cheesy decorations from a party store. The only place you may need to go is your local Home Depot, and here's why...
You will need...
- 6x9 painters cloth
- red and blue spray paint
- scissors
- edger paper (optional)
This is meant to look sloppy and rustic (that's kind of the theme for my BBQ) but you could always do yours neater, this is all I did.
Lay your painters cloth over your table how it's going to lay for the party.
Spray paint your blue area in the top left corner.
My table is against a wall...that's why I needed edger paper.
Then take your red spray paint and start painting your stripes. Like I said, I'm going for more of a sloppy flag, so my stripes aren't perfect, but yours can be if you like. I free handed this, you could always tape yours.
Since we're throwing a pool party, I opted to use shells as my stars and just laid them randomly on the blue area...
and there you have it! A really simple way to deck out your table for the Fourth!
Bonus: Since it is a painters cloth...throw it in your garage for when you need to do a messy project, or if you made yours really nice save it. We have tons of painting projects ahead, so this will definitely be used again! Happy Fourth of July :)
Great idea! I hope you guys have a great 4th of July :)
