Disclosure: I am in no way responsible for local paint stores to suddenly have missing paint chip strips in the colors of red, white, and blue to suddenly fly off their displays.
This right out of the July Issue of Better Homes and Gardens is such a great festive way to show your patriotic side without your ordinary stars and stripes! I apologize in advance for this horrible tutorial, I haven't exactly done the banner yet, but wanted to show you how so you could get started!!
DID I MENTION THIS IS FREEEEEEEEEEEE????? WOO HOO FOR FREEBIES!!!
Here we go...
You will need:
- hole puncher
- scissors
- red, white and blue paint chip samples (fat kind) from any paint retailer
- kitchen twine, rope, string, etc... any will do just fine!
First...go to your local paint retailer, cause a scene, grab your chips and run like the wind! Just kidding ;) Do whatever it takes though to grab as many as you can, without looking psycho weird.
Next... Trace a triangle (cutting out names, numbers, logos) and cut with scissors, and then punch two holes big enough for your rope to fit through.
Then...string your rope (or whatever) through the holes...I'm going to use jute rope because that's what I have in the house, but whatever you have is fine.
Once all your triangles are strung you can separate them to make them equally apart from eachother, and VOILA!
A really neat and sophisticated way to decorate your space for Independence Day!
Hope everyone has a HAPPY AND SAFE holiday weekend!!
When I finish making my banner tomorrow, I'm going to hang it under my covered patio for our pool party...where will you hang yours??
Very cute and simple! Hope you have a wonderful 4th of July weekend! :)
