Black is Wack!

If you follow me on Facebook and Twitter you'll know that yesterday I admitted defeat to the black bathroom idea.

'It's not you, it's me....'

It's not the color that I didn't like (I actually loved the little bit I did) It was the location of my bathroom, and the fact that the amount of light it was receiving was little to none. So when Jess from Living on Sweet Tea tweeted me back asking for a 'fail' picture, I decided to snap just one.

It's too depressing for me to even look at, I really really really wanted a black bathroom.

Oh well, back to the drawing board....what color is your bathroom?

  1. I have the ugliest bathroom on Earth. It's actually on my to-do/makeover list. It's really quite retched :)

  2. Meagan, you must not be talking about the bathroom we were in today because I wouldn't call it wretched at all! Our MB is going to be the same color as our BR (light blue) when I get time to paint it. The kids's bathroom is the same color as Zach's room, Bungalow Beige!

  3. Can you do a bright/dark color without making the bathroom seem ten times smaller? Would an accent wall be better in this situation?

    1. It's not making it feel smaller really. Just too dark. Whatever light comes in from that door gets absorbed. It doesn't bother me so much in the day time, but at night with the lights on. That's when I really don't like it. I have an idea I thought of today, so I'm going to text it out this weekend and see. :-)

  6. I think super dark colors are difficult in places like bathrooms because there is very little light to begin with {in most cases}. Our master bathroom is bright green. Our powder room is like a blue gray color and our kid's bathroom is a fun bright-ish blue.
One of my all time favorite bathroom colors is Silver Sage from Restoration Hardware.

    1. I was planning on doing Silver Sage in my kitchen actually! Love that color! It would be very pretty in a bath too, you're right!
