Spring Cleaning: The Linen Closet

Guess what?

My Laundry Room was featured at The DIY Show Off this morning!
Thanks so much to Roeshel, she is super sweet, and her home is absolutely stunning!

In other news...Spring cleaning has officially commenced in our house! Today I decided I needed to make better use of our hallway linen closet. Some people complain about not having enough closets, my complaint...we have too many! I was overwhelmed when we moved into this house with the amount of closet space. I didn't "assign" items to certain closets, instead just threw stuff in there with mentality of "I'll get to it later"- ha! right! 9 months later here I am FINALLY getting it done.

Here's how it looked before. Absolutely NO ORGANIZATION, stuff was just thrown in there without order or purpose.

So I took everything out, dusted, wiped down the walls, and shelves, and put everything in the wash.

Once all my linens were clean and dry I began to organize them, and purge whatever looked dingy or dirty.
One trick I like to do is put a few dryer sheets in between sheets, extra pillows, and towels to keep everything smelling fresh when not in use. So I scattered these in between everything in the closet, and now when the door gets opened it's like a fresh cool breeze in the face. Ahhhh. Anyways...

Here it is now...

Better. Much better.
What are you doing to kick off your spring cleaning?

    1. AGREE Lori! That's why I try to just tackle 1 major thing a day. Tomorrow...the pantry...if you don't hear from me, send the National Guard! :)

  2. Thank you so much for sharing your gorgeous subway art floor today. ;)

Great job on kicking off spring cleaning! Yesterday I started by washing windows in the family room - of course giving that room a makeover was motivation...can't start out with dirty windows. ;)

Have a great rest of the week, Christine!
