Garage Sale Mirror Re-do

My husband always jokes about how my decor taste changes as much as people change their undies. He's right. That's why I have a hard time spending a lot of money on knick knacks, because I know sooner or later I'll tire of it, and either sell it or donate it.

A few weeks ago I bought this plain white mirror from a yard sale for like eight bucks with the intent on painting it and using it in our spare bathroom.

When I got it home I realized it was too small for a bathroom mirror and left it in the garage with all the other misfits projects.

Yesterday I decided to paint the mirror. I had this custom greyish blue from Sherwin Williams that I'm planning to paint the laundry room with. (More on that to come)

Half way through painting it...I wasn't impressed...It still was dull....

Rummaging through the boxes of craft supplies I found some jute rope, and decided to use super glue to hold it down the inside rim. It came out cute. Still too small to hang on the wall, but I love using mirrors as trays/table runners.

So for now it has a home on the coffee table until I get tired of it ;) Not bad for a $8 garage sale find.

  1. Very cute redo. Glad I'm not the only one that collects unfinished projects in the garage. Saw you on it's a blog party.
