Apparently...
I've done my fair share of research and asked close to a million people when is the best time of year to plant in Central FL, and the majority of the answers were mid Feb through end of March.
So the past few days, and the next month will be filled these kinds of pictures and plenty of dirt under the finger nails!
Zoe and Bentley (our black lab pup) dug a great hole for mommy's new rose bush.
Digging holes is hard work!
Daddy was hard at work planting our Japanese boxwoods. Once established, they will be pruned into a crisp green wall that will frame our walkway.
Pretty deep fuchsia Azaleas will grow up to encircle our Italian Cypress that still has a lot of growing to do as well.
It's coming along. S.L.O.W.L.Y...
One thing I am happy about is the cost though. To date we have spent less than $1000 on plants, dirt, mulch etc, and one reason why is because we opted to go for younger plants. Sure it's going to take a lot longer to get the desired look, but once everything matures. It will be worth it!
I'm just happy everything is coming out of dormancy, and we can finally get back to work on the garden! It may not be Spring quite yet, but it has definitely sprung over here!
