The past two days I have been non stop in the garden! I had to take advantage of this beautiful Florida Fall weather we have been having. A couple of months ago my husband dug out all the old hedges that were covered in weeds and basically hacked to death. We also had all the palm trees removed. Everything has been wide open and perfect for the weeds to come in for a sneak attack, and they took over in no time! So I went to a few garden centers to check out weed block fabric (super expensive) but it's become a need. I ended up buying 100 yards on Ebay for pennies on the dollar compared to what big box hardware stores wanted, and yesterday and today laid it all down and secured it into the ground.
The area is still naked, but it looks a heck of a lot neater, and from a distance it just looks like top soil. So I'm happy-for now. I have to keep reminding myself that home ownership is a marathon, not a sprint. It doesn't matter how fast you get there, you will eventually cross the finish line and it will be a tremendous feeling!
