How To: Snake Nest Wreath for Halloween

Halloween is just around the corner, and if you're like me you love to give the trick or treaters a little scare. I wanted to make a wreath that was frightening without being too gross or filled with gore, so I came up with this snake nest wreath, and trust me when I say it looks terrifyingly real and oh so creepy!

Materials:

$3.50 Walmart grapevine wreath form
Black spray paint
$1.00 rubber snakes from dollar store (or anywhere else)
Moss (optional)

Start out by giving your snakes a coat of black spray paint.

While they were drying I went out to my nearest oak tree and grabbed a bunch of moss off of it. If you don't have it growing in your trees you can buy it at any craft store or just omit it completely.

When I was done gathering the moss, I gave it a quick light spray of the black paint to give it a dirty look, and did the same with the wreath form.

Once everything was dry, I began to put  my snakes on the form by weaving them through the vine (no glue or string required, they stay put)

Once I had all my snakes in place, I started shoving the moss in the bare spots to make it look like they were building a nest on my front door.

THAT'S IT!

and now....

My door is all TRICKED out for the TREATERS :)

Hope you all make one! It was less than $10 to make, and came out great!
